Open Source
I believe in the power of open source as the only sustainable foundation for our society. Unfortunately, many open source projects are exploited by commercial companies built on their work without providing adequate financial support. Open source maintainers and contributors are often left unsupported, particularly when large corporations benefit from their work.
Nevertheless, supporting these efforts financially or through direct contributions makes a real difference. Initiatives like the Recognition of Work on Open-Source as Volunteering in Germany petition aim to strengthen recognition and support for open source work.
While I'm not a frequent contributor to other projects, I have participated in several. I've also created some projects, though most are no longer actively maintained. See my GitHub profile for details.
In 2025, I started hosting my own Forgejo instance at git.baer.one. My currently active projects include:
